  Aiden Dunster from Mt Maunganui

Aiden Germany Aiden returned from racing in Germany with a team called ALZ, during the 2014 NZ off season where he did very well. He managed a win in his first semi final race & finished 4th in the final. Living & racing in different country certainly helps you to learn about yourself & become very resourceful. After a break from competing Aiden started to focus on Xterra which is like a triathlon with a swim/bike/run but the bike is mountain bike & generally the run is off road. Back in April of 2015 Aiden qualified not only for Xterra world champs in Hawaii but also the Cross Triathlon world championships in Italy.

Aiden decided that Italy was the one for him in September & started to work towards that. Racing in the elite section for the first time Aiden did an amazing job with a 5th place, this earned him an invitation to South Africa in January 2016Cape Town, South Africa is the next destination on the travel cards. saFrom Aiden: "I'll be calling Cape Town home for a couple of months as I head there to train, and compete at the fed health xterra series 3 races over a space of a month. Looking forward to adding another stamp to my passport. Racing the TINMAN at Mount Maunganui in December 2015  marked almost 2 years to the day when I competed in my first triathlon. Looking back over the last 2 years I have achieved a lot, I've raced for a German triathlon team for 5 months in my first year of Tri, got many top 10 finishes and won a fair share of races as well, raced my first u23 elite world cross Tri champs and placed 5th in the world. Scored myself some awesome sponsors, which I never thought I'd have. I am now preparing to race in my 6th country I've competed in, South Africa. A big thank you to all of my sponsors, without you i would not be able to live the dream." Thank you to Tom Morrison from sport Bay Of Plenty for awarding me a scholarship to continue with my sport. hayHayden Moorhouse Tauranga

Triathlon has been my main focus for some years now. I started way back with the Weet-bix kids at seven years old, but it wasn’t until I was 14-15 that I started concentrate on my racing. I meet Carolynn in 2008 and she worked with me, allowing me to make my first New Zealand Age Group Team to race in the World Champs in 2009. Since then it has been an exciting 7 year journey with a lot of success, including a collection of national titles across sprint distance, standard distance and multisport; a 3rd place in the 2011 world Aquathlon champs in Beijing, China; and a 3rd place finish in the 2012 World Age Group Triathlon Champs in Auckland. Past podium finishes include 2015      10th amatuer home /25th open elite, winner of age group (Tauranga 1/2 Ironman) 2013/14 3rd U23 Elite, Contact Cup Triathlon, Takapuna (13th Open Elite) 2012/13  2nd in the Contact Tri series for the 20-24 year age group 3rd New Zealand National Standard Distance Triathlon Championships 20-24 year age group 2011/12
  • 3rd World Standard Distance Triathlon Championships 16-19 year age group (medalling automatically qualified me for the 2013 world championships held in London)
  • 1st New Zealand National Standard Distance Triathlon Championships 16-19 year age group
  • 2nd U23 Elite New Zealand National Standard Distance Duathlon Championships (1st U19 also qualified for World Duathlon Champs held in Canada)
  • 1st U19 Erin Baker Triathlon, Kinloch, (7th Open)
  • 1st U19 Contact Trophy Triathlon, Rotorua, (9th Overall)
2010/11  3rd World Aquathlon Championships (swim/run) 16-19 year age group Hayden is currently taking a much earned rest away from competition for the 2016 season.
Carne Groube from Palmerston North
IMG_0772I would like to welcome Carne Groube to the Persona Sponsored athletes, we are very pleased to have Carne aboard and we are looking forward to following his progress over the coming seasons. My name is Carne, I am 16 years old and I am a competitive road cyclist and endurance track athlete.  I’m very pleased to be Carolynn’s newest sponsored athlete!  2014 has so far been a great year for me having achieved good results in the Ultimo Central Hawkes Bay Junior Tour (4th on General Classification) as well as having some success at Track Nationals in Invercargill coming away with a Bronze medal in the Individual Pursuit and a Silver in the Teams Pursuit with my West Coast North Island Centre team.IMG_0767 These results helped towards my selection in the 6 man Under 17 Road Squad which competed at the J&W Canberra Junior Tour at the beginning of May.  We achieved good success in this tour riding as a team to ensure Kiwis were 1st, 2nd and 5th on General Classification at the end of the tour. My main goal for the remainder of this year is to build up for the Oceania Track Champs in October which is to be held in Adelaide, Australia. This will be my first U19 competition. This event will be a good stepping stone to U19 Track Nationals in March 2015, where I hope to have a successful campaign which will help me gain selection into the New Zealand U19 Junior Worlds Track team.
